Update for reopening of Beauty Salons - Friday 31st July 2020.
I thought I was at last able to open my business and offer all treatments including working on the face from 1st August. My diary was full for at least two weeks from the 1st August. Having contacted all my regular clients to invite them to book to re commence their treatments. However, we have now had the rug pulled from under us once again and the facial work is now prohibited for at least another two weeks to the 15th August. ( I suspect it may be longer under the circumstances)
This is the latest update from the Government as taken from the Guild website:-
The Prime Minister announced plans on 17th July 2020 to reopen all 'close contact' services in England including any treatments on the face from 1st August 2020. In a further announcement on 31st July 2020, the Prime Minister said that these changes have now been postponed by at least a fortnight, ie until 15th August 2020.
Until further notice, no treatments are to be provided on the face. Examples of such services would include the following, though this list is not exhaustive:
face waxing, sugaring or threading services
advanced facial technical (electrical or mechanical)
electrolysis on the face
intricate detailing, outlining or shaving of beards
advanced beauty therapy and aesthetic treatments (this does not apply to medical settings)
Beauty therapists, nail technicians, holistic therapists, hairdressers & barbers, spas, tanning salons and other close contact services are all open subject to the restrictions above which remain in place until further notice.
I have a waiting list for prospective new clients wishing to book in for treatment. Once we can truly work again as normal and to full capacity, I will be able to manage the diary and will gradually contact new clients to invite them for a consultation and treatment. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
I will continue to post updates and send mailshots to all of my clients. If you would like to be added to my mailing list to be kept informed, please fill in the contact form and I will add your details to my data base.
Certificate for - COVID-19 Infection Prevention and Control
Having completed the above course I have put certain measures in place to keep us all as safe as possible. I have done a COVID-19 Risk Assessment. As a result, the following are some of the changes and procedures that are now in place:-
Step by step for clients to follow. eg:-
On arrival, the entrance gate will remain open. You may choose to ring the door bell or you may prefer to text/call to let me know you have arrived. On arrival, you must wear a mask, hand washing will be compulsory and I will be taking your temperature. Clients will not touch any unnecessary surfaces. Sanitiser is also provided for you to use at any time during or after your treatment. Clients may feel absolutely free to wear additional PPE of their choice.
Changes made to Salon and treatment room:-
Waterproof pillow, plastic couch cover as well as continued use of disposable couch roll, of course. The pillow and couch will be sanitised between every client. New wooden seat provided which will also be sanitised after every client. I have removed as much from the shelves as possible as well as removing or covering all of the soft surfaces.
Daily sanitising and steaming cleaning procedures are also in place.
Thank you for you co-operation and understanding.
Keep well, stay safe.
I look forward to being able to commence all Electrolysis and Advanced Electrolysis facial treatments as soon as I am allowed to.
